What this does

Rings more than one number for your calls — your desk phone first and then your mobile, or both together — so a caller reaches you rather than your voicemail when you’re away from your desk. Unlike a plain divert (see How do I divert my desk phone to another number?), your desk phone still rings.

What you’ll need

  • A desk phone registered to your extension, set up by us (see Connect your new Bluehubcloud handset).
  • Your Online Self Care login (see How do I use the Online Self Care portal?) to set which numbers ring and in what order — this is done once, then you turn Follow Me on and off from the phone.
  • Follow Me enabled for your extension. If it’s not available on your Bluehubcloud PBX, contact us and we’ll set it up for you.

Steps

Setting the numbers (once):

  1. Log in to the Online Self Care portal and open Enhanced Services.
  2. Open Follow Me and add the numbers to try, for example your extension then your mobile.
  3. Choose whether they ring in order (one after the other) or all at once, and how long each should ring before moving on.
  4. Save.

Turning Follow Me on from your desk phone:

  1. Pick up the handset and dial *520. Listen for the confirmation and hang up.

Turning it off:

  1. Dial *521 and hang up after the confirmation. Calls ring only your desk phone again.

What you should see

With Follow Me on, ring your extension from another phone: your desk phone rings, then (or at the same time, depending on your rule) your mobile rings. Answer on either. After *521 only the desk phone rings.

Troubleshooting

  • My mobile rings but the caller’s gone by the time I answer. Shorten the ring time on the desk phone step in Self Care, or set both numbers to ring at once.
  • My mobile rings for every call and I only wanted it for missed ones. Change the order in Self Care so the desk phone rings first and the mobile only after it.
  • *520 doesn’t do anything. Follow Me may not be enabled for your extension. Contact us.
  • I want all calls to go elsewhere, not to ring my desk as well. That’s a divert — use *71 instead (see How do I divert my desk phone to another number?).
