What this does
Communicator Web gives you calls, chat, SMS, meetings, and presence — the same core features as Communicator Desktop — straight from a browser, with nothing to install. It’s a good option when you’re using a shared or temporary computer, or want quick access without setting up the full Desktop app.
What you’ll need
- A supported browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.
- A reliable internet connection.
Steps
- Go to the Communicator web address in a supported browser — it’s your Bluehubcloud PBX address followed by
/webapp; contact our helpdesk for it. It opens straight to the login screen. - Log in either with Password Login (your extension’s email and password) or Single Sign-On, if your organisation has that configured. If this feature isn’t available on your Bluehubcloud PBX, contact us and we’ll set it up for you.
- First-time login prompts you to set a new password, same as Communicator Desktop.
- If your account has 2-step verification set up, you’ll be asked for your authenticator code after your password — tick Remember me on this device to skip that step on future logins from the same browser.
What you should see
Communicator Web opens to the same kind of home screen as Desktop — contacts, dialler, chat, and meetings all available from the browser tab, no download required.
Troubleshooting
- “Login Failed: Username or Password is incorrect.” Double-check your email and password — contact your admin to confirm your account details if you’re not sure they’re right.
- You’re being asked for a 2FA code you don’t have. See How do I use the Online Self Care portal? (Online Self Care) to reset 2-step verification, or contact Bluehubcloud support.
- You use Single Sign-On and it’s not offered on the login screen. SSO has to be enabled on your licence first, and can’t be combined with 2FA — check with your admin which one your account uses.
- You forgot your password. Click Forgot your password on the login screen — same recovery flow as I forgot my Communicator password — how do I reset it?, since it’s the same account either way.
