What this does
Sends every call to your number straight to one phone, such as your mobile or your office line. You can add voicemail for when nobody answers. In Smart Number Manager this is called a Simple service.
What you’ll need
- A Smart Number Manager login (see What is Smart Number Manager and how do I sign in?).
- The phone number you want calls to go to.
- If you want voicemail: the email address voicemails should go to.
Steps
- Sign in to Smart Number Manager. You start on Services.
- Select Create New Service.
- Choose your account from the list, select Simple Service, then Confirm.
- Give the service a name you’ll recognise, such as “Main 1300 to mobile”. The name also appears in your reports.
- Under Assign Numbers, attach the number (or numbers) you want forwarded.
- Under Configure Destinations, enter the phone number that should ring.
- To add voicemail, switch on Voicemail and choose the greeting and where messages go (see How do I get voicemail, missed-call emails and call recordings?).
- Select Save.
- Check the summary page, then select Confirm Service.
What you should see
The new service appears on the Services page as Active. Call your number from another phone: the destination should ring.
Troubleshooting
- The service saved but calls don’t arrive. Make sure you selected Confirm Service on the summary page. A service isn’t live until it’s confirmed.
- I want more than one phone to ring. Use an Advanced service instead (see How do I ring a group of phones from one number?).
- I need to remove a service. Open it and select Delete. Calls to its numbers stop being routed, so attach the numbers to another service first.
