What this does

Turns incoming faxes into emails, so you can keep a fax number without a fax machine. Each fax arrives as a PDF or TIFF attachment. This is a Fax to Email service.

What you’ll need

Steps

  1. Sign in, select Create New Service, choose your account, select Fax to Email Service, then Confirm.
  2. Name the service and attach your fax number under Assign Numbers.
  3. In the fax settings:
  • Originator email: the “from” address on fax emails, for example fax@yourbusiness.com.au.
  • Email address: where faxes are delivered. Select Add to send to more than one address.
  • File format: choose PDF or TIFF.
  • Server delivery: only if you also want faxes copied to your own file server. Leave it off if you’re not sure.
  1. Select Save Service, check the summary, then Confirm Service.

What you should see

The fax service shows as Active. Send a test fax to the number: it arrives at your inbox from the originator address you chose.

Troubleshooting

  • Faxes don’t arrive. Check your junk or spam folder, and add the originator address to your safe senders.
  • The attachment won’t open. Switch the file format to PDF, which opens on almost any device.
