What this does

Every number you use with Bluehubcloud PBX — a local number, a national 13/1300/1800 line, a mobile number for SMS, or a number in another country — lives inside the phone system. That means each one gets the same routing, menus, queues, AI Call Assistant and SMS the platform already has, and you manage them all from one place. Your existing numbers come with you (see Can we keep our existing phone numbers when we move to Bluehubcloud PBX?).

What’s included

  • Local numbers — virtual numbers with a local area code (02, 03, 07, 08) for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and beyond, so you look established in every region you serve. Pick the city; route the calls to wherever the team actually sits.
  • 13 and 1300 numbers — short, memorable national numbers. The caller pays a local-call rate, which suits sales and customer-service lines.
  • 1800 numbers — toll-free for the caller; your business covers the call. Removes the cost barrier and encourages inbound calls.
  • Mobile numbers — virtual mobile numbers with two-way SMS and MMS, sent and received from Communicator on every device, shareable across a team, and used by automations and the AI Call Assistant for reminders and follow-ups. Mobile and landline SMS options are available (contact us for how an SMS number is set up).
  • New Zealand and international numbers — local and toll-free options in other markets, routed back to any team, anywhere. Ask us about the countries you need.

What every number can do

Numbers do more than receive calls. Point any number at an extension, ring group, call queue, IVR menu, voicemail or the AI Call Assistant, and change it whenever you like . On top of that:

  • IVR and auto-attendant menus, including multi-language (see What can Bluehubcloud PBX do with IVR menus and auto-attendants?).
  • Call queuing, ring groups and hunt groups, with callback for waiting callers (see What can Bluehubcloud PBX do with call routing and queues?).
  • Call recording and transcription.
  • Time-and-day routing, area-based routing, and caller and date exceptions.
  • CRM-based routing — the destination decided by what your CRM knows about the caller.
  • Voicemail and missed-call alerts.
  • Overflow to an AI Call Assistant when a group rings out (see Can Bluehubcloud PBX handle calls with AI?).
  • Disaster recovery and failover to another destination when nobody can answer.
  • Live call status, call statistics by number, ring group and IVR, and scheduled email reports.
  • Outbound caller ID control — present your main line, a 1300 number or a local number per site, and keep it accurate on transferred and parked calls.
  • SIP Protect on the platform against toll fraud and abuse, with TLS and SRTP encryption, and your calls and data kept in Australian data centres.

Common questions

  • 1300 or 1800? A 1300 number costs the caller a local call; an 1800 number is free for the caller and the business covers the call. Either can be the front door to the same menus and teams.
  • Can one number ring several sites? Yes — a number can ring a hunt group across sites, split by time of day, area or caller, overflow to another team or an AI Call Assistant, and fail over to another destination.
  • Can we keep our current numbers? In almost all cases, yes. We manage the port end-to-end; simple local numbers usually move in one to five business days, number blocks and 1300/1800 numbers take longer. • Who changes the routing? You can, from the Bluehubcloud PBX admin portal — assignments, routing rules and dial plans update in real time — or contact us and we’ll make the change.
