What this does
Walks you through installing Communicator GO on your phone and logging in for the first time, using the QR code from your welcome email — the fastest and least error-prone way to sign in.
What you’ll need
- Your phone (iPhone or Android).
- Your Bluehubcloud welcome email, with the QR code and your extension credentials. See Your Bluehubcloud welcome email explained.
- Your computer nearby if you’re using the QR code, so you can point your phone’s camera at the screen.
Steps
- Install Communicator GO from the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android) — it’s listed as “Communicator GO 8”. Open it and you land straight on the login screen (a Bluehub Cloud logo and version number at the top); once you’re logged in, the app’s first tab is labelled Phone.
- On the login screen, enter your Email and Password, and below that pick one of three tabs: SSO, Scan QR, or Meeting. For your first login, tap Scan QR.
- Point your phone’s camera at the QR code in your welcome email (open the email on your computer screen, or another device).
- Communicator GO fills in your email, password, and Host fields automatically once it reads the code — tap Log In.
- If you’d rather type your details in by hand instead of scanning: enter the email address and password from your welcome email into the Email and Password fields, then tap Log In. In most cases that’s all you need. If the Host field is missing or wrong, you’ll see a “Login error — there was an error connecting to the server” message (expandable “Server error details” shows a connection-timeout error, not a DNS error) — enter your Bluehubcloud PBX address in the Host field. It isn’t in the welcome email, so contact our helpdesk for it.
- The first time you log in, you’ll be asked to set a new password. It needs to be at least 8 characters long, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit, and one special character. Enter it twice to confirm.
- Once your new password is accepted, you’re signed in and ready to use Communicator GO.
What you should see
Communicator GO opens to its main screen, signed in with your name and extension showing.
Troubleshooting
- The QR code won’t scan. Make sure the whole code is visible and well-lit on the screen you’re pointing your camera at, and that you’re holding your phone steady. If it still won’t scan, use manual entry instead (step 5 above).
- A “Login error — there was an error connecting to the server” message appears and you don’t have a Host address to enter. Contact Bluehubcloud support for your correct address details rather than guessing.
- Your email and password are correct but login still fails. Your app may need updating — check the App Store or Play Store for a Communicator GO update. If it’s already up to date, contact Bluehubcloud support.
- You’ve forgotten your password. Tap Forgot Password on the login screen. Unlike Communicator Desktop, Communicator GO doesn’t e-mail you a reset link — it asks for your email and host, then tells you to contact your administrator, since this is a multi-tenant environment. Contact Bluehubcloud support directly, or reset your password on Communicator Desktop first (see I forgot my Communicator password — how do I reset it?) and log in to GO with the new one.
