What this does
Sends a fax straight from your computer using Communicator, and lets you check faxes you’ve received — no physical fax machine needed.
What you’ll need
- The PDF file(s) you want to fax — up to 20 files in one fax.
- The recipient’s fax number.
Steps
- Open the Send Fax module in Communicator.
- Under To, enter the recipient’s details — their fax number at minimum, plus name, phone, email, or company if you want them on the cover page.
- Under From, check your own details and choose the Caller ID you want the fax sent from.
- Attach your PDF file(s) by clicking the file icon.
- Click Send Fax.
What you should see
A progress window shows each file being sent in order, with a notification once a file finishes. Files send one at a time — the next one starts only once the previous one is done.
Troubleshooting
- You need to stop a fax while it’s sending. Click the x next to that file to cancel just that one, or Cancel to stop everything. Closing the progress window before it’s finished asks you to confirm first.
- A fax failed to send. Once a file is finished — sent or failed — its x changes to a fax report button. Open it to see what happened, and retry from there if it failed. A cancelled file gets a Retry button instead, and goes to the back of the queue if you use it.
- You’re looking for a fax someone sent you. Check your incoming fax list in Communicator — it shows every fax you’ve received, including any still coming in.
- You don’t see a Send Fax option. If this feature isn’t available on your Bluehubcloud PBX, contact us and we’ll set it up for you.
