What this does
Explains what a Business Insights credit is, what spends them, and where to see your balance and history — so the numbers on your dashboard make sense.
What you’ll need
- A Business Insights login.
Steps
- Know the rule: one credit covers one minute of analysed call, charged to the exact second — a 90-second call uses one and a half credits, not two. Credits never expire.
- Check your balance on the Dashboard tile Credit balance (see What does the Business Insights dashboard show me?).
- See where they went under Buy Credits in the top menu, then Credit history. Each line shows the date, a description, the type, the credits moved and your balance afterwards:
- Usage — one line per weekly report, for the minutes analysed that week.
- Purchase — a credit pack you bought.
- Adjustment — credits we’ve added or corrected for you.
- Compare a week’s usage with the Credits Used column under Weekly Call Reports (see How do I read my weekly call report in Business Insights?) — they match.
What you should see
Your balance falls once a week, by roughly the number of minutes your team spent on calls that were analysed, and rises when a pack is bought or auto top-up runs.
Troubleshooting
- My balance dropped more than I expected. Check the week’s Minutes under Weekly Call Reports — a busy week uses more credits. Internal calls and very short calls aren’t transcribed, so they cost little or nothing.
- My balance is zero and no new report has appeared. Analysis pauses when credits run out and resumes with the next week once credits are added. Buy credits or set up auto top-up (see How do I buy credits or set up auto top-up in Business Insights?), then contact us if you also want the missed week analysed.
- I want to plan how many credits I need. Take your average weekly minutes from the last few reports; that’s roughly the credits a week uses.
- Pricing. Credit packs and prices are shown under Buy Credits; for plan options talk to our sales team.
