What this does
Keeps your Communicator status in step with your Microsoft Teams status, so colleagues see one consistent picture of your availability instead of checking two different apps. If you change your status in Teams — Available, Busy, Do Not Disturb, Away — your Communicator status updates to match automatically.
What you’ll need
Nothing to set up yourself. Contact us and let us know you’d like Teams presence sync switched on — it’s a done-for-you setup on our side (contact us if you’re the admin handling the request).
Steps
- Contact Bluehubcloud support or your account manager and ask for Microsoft Teams presence sync.
- We’ll confirm your Bluehubcloud PBX system meets the minimum requirements and set it up on our side.
- Once it’s live, your Teams status changes automatically flow through to Communicator — nothing further for you to do.
What you should see
Change your status in Teams, and your Communicator status updates to match shortly after — Available, Busy, Do Not Disturb, and Away all sync through.
Troubleshooting
- I changed my status in Communicator, but Teams didn’t update. That’s expected — sync only runs one way, from Teams to Communicator, not the other direction. The one exception: if your Teams status is just the automatic one (Available, or Away from inactivity) and you make a call in Communicator, Teams will show you as in a call for the duration. If you’ve manually set your Teams status yourself, it stays exactly as you set it.
- My status isn’t syncing at all. Confirm the feature has actually been turned on for your extension — contact us if you’re not sure whether it’s active.
- I’m the admin and need to configure this myself. The admin-side setup screen and the full behavioural detail are in the admin guide — contact us and we’ll walk you through it.
