What this does

Bluehubcloud PBX has a number of optional AI features your organisation’s administrator can turn on. This article is background, not a setup guide — it explains what each feature actually does, in plain terms, so you know what’s possible if one of them is switched on for your account.

Where AI might show up

  • AI Voice Agents. An AI can be set up to answer specific phone numbers, hold a conversation with the caller, and either handle the call itself or transfer it to a person — used for things like after-hours reception or simple, repetitive enquiries. It’s only active on numbers your administrator has specifically routed to it.
  • Live Transcription. Turns a call into text in real time while it’s happening. On some configurations, finished sections of the transcript also get a rough sentiment tag — positive, negative, neutral, or mixed — mainly for coaching and quality-review purposes, not a judgement on any individual caller.
  • Call Transcription and summaries. After a recorded call finishes, AI can generate a written transcript and a short summary of what was discussed, so staff can review it later without re-listening to the whole recording.
  • Text to speech. Turns written text into a spoken audio file — used for things like generated greetings or prompts, rather than anything involving your live calls.
  • Voicemail transcription. Converts a voicemail message into text, so it can be read at a glance instead of played back.

Does this affect me?

Only if your administrator has switched a feature on for your organisation, and usually only for specific numbers, ring groups, or extensions — not automatically for every call. None of these features are on by default.

Common questions

  • Who decides whether these are turned on? Your organisation’s Bluehubcloud PBX administrator, not Bluehub directly. Ask them if you’re not sure what’s enabled for your account.
  • Does this send my call data outside Bluehub? Depending on the feature, yes — these run on established third-party AI services (for example, providers like OpenAI, xAI’s Grok, Eleven Labs, Google, Deepgram, or Amazon, depending on which feature and which provider your administrator has configured), not something built entirely in-house. Ask your administrator or contact us if you want the specifics for your setup.
  • Can I opt out of a specific call being handled this way? That depends on how your administrator has it configured. Contact us or your administrator to check.
